Mam - I'm in SW houston.

We should ride! LMK a good spot we can travel towards Austism if you know of good rides ;)

I'm don't know of any great places to ride but I am willing to travel and ride to just for fun anyway. Around here, I just ride a local park. You have anything that way? Maybe Snell knows.

Would be cool to meet up during the February Critical Mass. 19 mile average sight seeing.

Doc probably won't approve me for riding for a few months but I might be able to sneak in a street riding Critical Mass by March.

Done abit of winter work on my bike,
New rear sm pro rim spokes,2.50x19 tyre, help from Rix ta
New seat support,black chain
Welded brace on v boxx frame support as there was stress cracks
Ceramic wheels bearings in hub
Coated stator and magnets in red varnish
Switch for limiting power, its inside frame, same what Tv done
Made a sprung loaded flap in front small frame cover to access main plug and power limiting switch

Happen to have a part number for the ceramic bearings? Im aware of the 6004/6005 rs1 bearings, did not know there was a ceramic option.

Here u go http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/221259604867
Just so u know its just the balls inside that are ceramic
I thought i try them as my others got hot and melted the grease out, i ended up with play in the o/s bearing.

How is everyone getting cv-2 grease into those tiny holes on the V-Boxx? Turkey basting needle? Grease gun with a needle? How much is enough? What is being used as a solvent to rinse the old stuff? Would diesel work or CLP oil?

30CC Veterinary Syringe. http://www.androusa.com/ is what I used. As far as cleaning goes, simple bicycle chain degreaser, squirt some in the top two holes, and pedal going through all the gears, then drain by removing the bottom plug bolt.

I've got over 1500 miles on this bike..... it is my 4:30AM 30 mile night ride bike...... I see all kinds of wild-life at this time of day.... and no people. Havolina, coyote, deer, owl, raccoons, possum, etc...

No giant man eating kangaroos though.

Negative TV!.. I do get the occasional exhuberant baby boomer with an attitude that my sondors does not belong on the walk/bike path at 4:45AM when they are walking their toy poodles...... I just smile and say "goooooooooood moooooorning"....." have a niiiiiiiiiiice daaaaay".

and motor away.

Yeah, I'm familiar with that look. It's even worse from a hole bicyclers that think they own the bike trails. When I'm on my Stealth I take it easy on them, but If I'm on the Storm I like to ride their ass for a while, and then leave them in my fat bike dust.

Hey Jimboyr6

That spring loaded cover is a great idea! Do you have any pictures of how you did it?

Yeah cheers sure saves taking cover off all time
I get sum pics up
I just used small sheet of carbon 2mm, stuck vinyl carbon rap over top to match the rest
Got a very small hinge with a small spring built into it (china) ebay special http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/231590345590
Stick and glue it into postion, works perfect and no one knows, dammit my secrets out :|

I use a grease gun that I have attached a plastic tube about 1/4" dia. maybe slightly smaller, but bigger than the hole. I press the tube against the oil port while I squeeze the grease gun, forcing the grease into the port

Have any of you guys replaced the DNM shock bushings in your rear shock?

My rear suspension started to knock and I noticed play in the bushings.

Found them online for 20 USD plus shipping. Is this a rip off?

A new shock costs 120 USD.

Spent the last Saturday taking a close look at a new track taking shape not far from home, with my youngsters on 20" and me on a 24" cruiser, but went back to shoot a track review today. Still in design stage at the moment, so it's a fun time to be taking a look at it and thinking about how racing lines might play out and what track sections are still needed. Track is intended for BMX competition grade racing, for all ages, so keep that in mind when looking at the annotations and responding.

The area has adjacent bushland which is just begging for single track trail network development, so lots more to come from my patch:

Nice little track QR, high berms allow for speed to be carried through the corners. Just keep it pinned and go

Its a little bit pricey, but its probably because its small volume special order part. If your shock is in good condition and you plan on staying with it a while longer, than this is a good purchase.

Which rear shock do you guys recomend for the bomber?

The bushings went bad on the stock ones and cost 20 USD a pair, which means 40 USD for the two eyelets. I plan to use that money and buy a new rear shock instead.

Keep in mind the Bomber uses a Motorcycle shock. Any shock with an eye to eye length of 290mm or so should work. Stock spring should be 700 or 750# coil. I never got a round to taking measurements, but I always wondered if KTM's PDS shock would be compatible? If it did, the Bomber would have the best rear suspension ever.

Thanks Rix.
You bet, let us know what you do. If you go with an after market shock, I would be very interested to know what you find out and how you like it.

Cowardlyduck,

Although I retained the button for when I want 100% Regen, I also setup my brake lever with a variable voltage hall sensor so that the first part of my brake lever travel progressively engages Regen before the mechanical brakes are added to the mix.

Could you tell us which "variable voltage hall sensor" and magnet you used for your Regen assembly?

Thanks.

Mounting QS205 motor ...
I'm pleased with how it turned out motor assembly in the swingarm.
The torque plates works as expected and the motor is centered better than the stock 5403.
There are two potential problems that bother me, the first is that the brake disc bolts may rub on the large bunch of wires coming out from the shaft and the second is the little distance that there is between the brake caliper and the left side of the motor. The gap is about 1mm, is it a problem?
For the brake disc bolts I thought to countersink the holes in the brake disk to house the flat-head screws, do you have some better advice?
Then Allex if you're reading this, you have a pm asking for the best strategy to test the new QS motor with Adaptto controller and then swap back to the old 5403.
