RIX = glue that holds this motley lot together. thx commander RIX sir.

Total mx bike NEWB observation today...... I always ride in hard dry packed clay..... and I never realized how much MORE grip you can get in damp dirt/clay.... HOLY COW... today I rode on the soft moist stuff.......the terra firma actually becomes part of the suspension (if that makes sense to anybody)....... the grip around turns at speed is way better..... actually can control the push understeer with throttle, and body english....

The enduro racers of era call that Hero Dirt. Thats what you were riding on today.

coolio dewd! Not to sound like a douche but eventually with enough practice all of that damp dirt clay experience will transfer over to dry, hardback and you will be able to control the front and rear of the bike with weight shifting and throttle control… eventually you can slide the front and rear at once flat track style….and it feels really Fing cool to slide the bike around!!!…

Try this…. find a nice flat dirt spot lean back transferring weight to the rear wheel so the front is light, Then apply the throttle, get moving and confidently, not quickly, apply the front brake (while keeping the throttle on) locking up the front and see how long you can skid the front for release to recover the front. You don't have to go very fast to start out with. This will teach you what it feels like when the front end washes out and how to recover it. Soon you will be dragging it further and further...So when you ride in dry dirt and the from end washes its no big deal and you will get comfortable with that feeling...Again if you know this stuff already feel free disregard...

Rix 1ab thx gents! Ill tale all the free advice i can get. Im getting more confident in sweeping dirt track turns under power. Ill practice the push recovery bit 1abv.

The grip on dirt in turns is amazing to me. And i know im no where near the edge.

.... Do i get a prize if i hit 1 yr anniversary of getting the qigley motorsports shaft for $1000us! ???
I truly wish i could pull that crap off of my sig...., it cant be good for business.

1ABV said it best the hero dirt will get you to how to ride in the loose, loomey and dry slick stuff. Now if you reverse that, and ride in the slick stuff first, when you hit the hero dirt, you will feel like a hero, hence the name, hero dirt.

Hi Turbo9111

See this post for the likely answer to your vboxx problems

I got the parts from Stealth to fix the box but it took over 1 year of waiting.

I would recommend sending the box to Suntour, arranged via Stealth.

BTW, I asked about QMS to the guys while at the Tesla Convention. Apparently he has had some serious medical issues. I think Quigly should post his status and refund the money or give the customer the option of waiting with the funds in limbo. Doesn't change you are out your money, and 1000 bucks is alot to me.

Here is my latest video. Not the fastest I have came up with, but I got some footage of my 70 year old Dad ripping at Alpine elevations. It was so fun riding up at high elevations.

Hi Villain,
Thanks for your help on this and I,m sure you are correct to what the problem is as I have had my bomber from new for about 8 months and never touched or adjusted the cable tension, I have contacted Stealth to quote me for a new V Boxx
And I'm awaiting a reply, anyone know how much they are ??, was thinking get a new one and then send mine off for repair,,,,

Great vid Rix. Pretty cool you can enjoy this hobby w your pops.

Re qms--- if the man is in the throws of illness then I'll pull the sig, I'll just consider it a contribution to his med bills.
.../.../.../..../.../...

Back to riding and building.

I would hold off until QMS bounces back and makes good on his end. This all could have been avoided if QMS would have just communicated the circumstances with us. I get being sick and out of work can screw things up, just need to let the customers know if something like that is going on. I am hoping that QMS comes back, ships the product he has accepted payment for, and move forward and learn from this. When Hyena was battling cancer with chemo and down time, he was not active and went dormant with his ebike business and kits. However, Jay posted status updates on the threads, and facebook as well of other social medias what was up, now hes back in the game and Hyena Electric Bikes' image is better than ever for it.

911 turbo.... I can send you my vboxx which was serviced by stealth-suntour-taiwan...... and you send yours in for repair, and just ship me the repaired unit when it comes back in 4-7 weeks ;) lOL.

I'd be happy to help a brutha out..... you pay all shipping though!

RIX - karma is a bieeetch...... I'd hate to hurt an ailing mans business...... if he resurfaces and sends the parts I'll call that a bonus...... if he is so incapacitated so as to not be able to attend to my transaction..... i'll consider this a small donation to his plight...... IF he's in great health and spending my $ on hookers and blow..... I hope he has a blast :) and then catches some zika!

One4torque,

I'm so very impressed by words and actions. I got screwed over by a person on this forum as well and did the exact same thing. I even shipped him extra parts so when karma comes he can bear all of it. Had I not I would have either had it eat me up or I'd have to take a trip to see him.

Karma is a bitch and it will find them.

Peace be with you and I hope for the right out come for you.

Tom

Thats some early 80s shit there. I hope that isnt the case, And yah, if thats not the case, karma will reel its ugly head.

Took the SB out for a "hero mode" ride on some wet stuff....... got a damn flat 2 miles in the bush. This time on the front!
Tube had 2 holes... one dead center, and 2nd looked like pinch flat.

I'm done with these stinkin duro downhill tires.... time to put some manly mx rims/tires/tubes for my bush rides. Anyone running 19" MX rims rear AND FRONT?

Looks like that's where I'm headed.

Yes but not on my SB. And I had a rear pinch flat a few weeks ago. So I don't think that will auto-solve the problem.

I am on my Alpha.

I have also ran them front and rear in the past on my Bomber, even though I am only running them on the rear now. Here is a pic.
