Re: solar. God daaaaaayum HPC You're going to wind up in the sex offenders database with prices like that, that's straight up rape.
I know flexible folding panels are expensive but, wow.
My fighter is technically solar charged as I have a large array on my roof and it could be totally solar charged if I balance charge with the BC168, but it's a slow process.
Even with that $2600 300w one HPC is selling it'd still take the best part of a day to recharge a bomber. So they're not really a viable option to charge while you're out riding. The best use of one I can imagine is if you're out camping somewhere for a few days you could ride every second day, or have 2 batteries and charge one at your base while you're out riding. Or have a decent sized car battery that charges up through the day and then recharges the bike at night. But that defeats the idea of it being light and portable. You'd need a biiig truck sized battery. If it's for a weekender, caravan or any other application though where you don't need it as super portable as possible normal rigid panels would be a hell of a lot cheaper.
Another thing to consider is the solar cells/panels can be connected in series just like battery cells so you could make a custom panel that outputs 90v odd and charge the battery direct. It's probably not ideal if not in constant direct sunlight as the current would drift up and down and lithium technically likes constant current charging but it'd be no worse than the intermittent bursts of high current you get with regen braking.
But back to the above 300w chargers, and in the DIY spirit of ES, you could make your own simple 300w portable stealth charger with a standard folding solar panel, inverter and 300w AC charger for around $1000
