Ebay 48V 10AHLi batteries? any good?

My first ebike battery was a 36v10ah from ebay as well.. it lasted me quite a while. Though they're not gonna be good if you want anything more than pedal assist, they serve their purpose well if you want to use them as packs which will help you while you pedal. They cant put out any decent current. This pack you showed would be good for a 20-25mph ebike. Not sure how long they'll last if you have a high speed motor and it pulls a lot of current though.

Welcome to ES! Search for cammy or vpower. You'll get quite a few hits and no doubt some opinions of the quality of thier batteries and service.\

If you do end up getting a battery from them, or anyone else for that matter, post back to let us know how it went and what you think.

I been eyeing Vpower for a battery a bit.
Interestingly that particular ebay seller you have there seems to be selling vpower batteries without the vpower logo on them etc, maybe these a batteries rejected from vpower as being too dodgey.
Also at that price it would most certainly be surface shipping so its a 2 month wait to receive your battery.
As far as I know ebay don't really support any kind of dispute service after that length of time. Would be great if they did but 2 month long surface shipping is a great window of opportunity for those that would to get around paypals dispute claims service.
Anyone below 98% seller rating is a red alert for me.
Personally I would like you to purchase a battery from them so I can see what happens for my own personal gain of information.

But to give these types of sellers a bit of benefit of the doubt, most people who buy stuff online never expect anything to take 2 months to arrive even if its clearly written it will, so that can easily make people give the sellers a bad rating.

What I said seems pretty negative but am just looking at it from a paranoid point of view. Would be great if you did go through the purchase and gave the seller a giant thumbs up

No telling if they are rejects or not, I think they are just more cheap cell packs. Not actual dumpster packs. There was a guy who sold the same broken pack over and over in 2008, and never refunded when the pack got shipped back. Or he just never shipped. He changed his name monthly to dodge the money disputes.

Cammy has been around a long time. Not like that other guy. I also think she has sold the V power type of battery, but who knows exactly where she sources them.

10 ah size is capable of reliably running a 15 amps controller. If you have a bigger one, reliability will suffer.

Hi

I'm new to e-bikes and am researching my options.

I came across battery packs from "cammy_cc8" selling 48V 10AH battery packs for $270 including shipping. (shipping is the killer for me, living in New Zealand).

Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/48V-10AH-Li...-Scooter-E-Bike-Lithium-Battery/331067632937/

Does anybody have any experience with the product and/or the vendor?

Kiwipete.

Hi kiwipete, I recently had the same question and it was discussed here: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55135

Canada, much like New Zealand, has very high shipping costs. I decided to go with an E bay Vpower 48V 10Ah LiFePo4 from seller top2012wu. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281209395300 I reviewed all of his seller feedback for LiFePO4, and there are over 30 good reviews. The only negative or neutral reviews are concerning shipping time, not the quality of the batteries. He clearly states that the batteries could take up to seven or eight weeks to arrive. I paid $260 USD for the battery set shipped to Canada, I did hours of research and list price was unbeatable. Also, you have the safety controls of eBay and PayPal in place for buyer protection. My advice is to very carefully look over the seller's feedback. I think that top2012wu and sun_thing28 have the best reputation for cheap eBay LiFePO4. I will post photos and detailed review when I get my batteries in a few weeks (hopefully not longer). Let me know if you have any other questions, because it looks like we are at the same stage of our build

Yes, I understand they are different. I was commenting on the quality of the eBay feedback reviews (reputation), not the quality of the battery. I am about to purchase my Mac10T kit from EM3ev with a 25A controller. The Vpower 48V 10Ah is listed at 15A continuous and 20A max. So a 25A controller does not seem overkill, and for the price I am paying for the kit and battery I think I will have a respectable bike that is affordable and meets my needs.

The 48V 10AH battery will do a decent job in the 15 to 20 MPH speed anything faster and it will have a problem putting out the AMPS.
