Ebike light tap and switch

Hi I had my light tapped before the controller and I noticed that when I ride the bike with battery unplugged, the light powers up is it the regen?
Also how do connect this switch?
Both green and red on the positive side of the light?

Your light powering up with a disconnected battery is either magic or regen. I am guessing regen.

With the switch, you cut the positive line to the light and connect one side of the cut wire to one of the wires from the switch, and the other side of the cut wire to the other wire from the switch.
