Hi new to the forums in hopes someone could help me.

I have a aniioki aq177 52v 1000watt ebike that i was using for well over a year now, and it was making grinding noise for the longest. So i decided to open up the motor to find out that the planetary gears wear worn down with a few teethes broken. I ordered a new set and installed it today but once i put the wheel back in, the motor would sound like its working but the wheel would not spin anymore. I don't know what i did wrong, all i did was take off old planetary gear and installed a new one. The only thing i can say i tested was clamping the motor down with no wheel gave it power to spin and used my hands to give it some resistance but that did not stop the motor it kept spinning. Any help is appreciated this bike is my money maker and i feel like i broke it by installed a new planetary gear set.

Most likely it's spinning backwards. If so, you need to verify your wiring is correct (the wrong phase/hall combo will cause this), if wiring was changed or altered in any way.

If it's spnning forwards, then perhaps your new gearset is installed backwards, or it is built for a different motor that rquires it to be installed the other way, so it's clutch operates in reverse of what your motor needs. You can test this by manually rotating the wheel with your hands in each direction. It should feel like there is resistance only when moving it backwards, not forwards. If it feels harder to turn forwards, then the clutch is reversed or reverse-operating.

If it feels easy to turn both ways, the clutch is not engaging.

If it feels hard to turn both ways, something else is wrong internally.

Ya i feel stupid but i bought the wrong planetary gear, the original was spinning clock-wise while the new one was spinning counter clock-wise. So all i had to do was take the gears off the new one and put it on the old. Easy fix but thank you for the response
