Ebike Rain Fairings?

Anyone here ever tried to make a rain fairing for their ebike? I usually just ride with safety glasses on in the rain and bring a change of clothes, but was thinking about if this idea is ridiculous or not. It looks like Justin tried it on his first ebike. On the off chance you see this thread Justin, what did you think about it?

Look on Youtube. Look for solar ebikes, as some mount the panels overhead.

Ebikes aren't the best for this, as they are two wheels and therefore not so stable - any canopy is top-heavy, even if it is very light.

But...

Here is a thread in the Cruzbike forum showing a rain fairing made with fibreglass kite wands and fabric. The fellow lives and rides in Seattle, so he rides in serious weather. It appears that the 'edge-on' aspect of the faces avoids problems with the wind steering him:

Two fairings in this thread (2d is group picture, bike at extreme right):

This thread shows the two together in one shot. These are both riders in Pacific Northwest - I think their fairing principles work for wind and rain:

I have a AU$80 kayak sun shield mounted on my trike. It's not broad enough for rain, but keeps some sun off. I'm considering a solar panel instead (both the two-panel mount and a single panel mount) as well.

Here is a fellow that mounts a single panel:

Also, think about a bicycle poncho. These are well established, and there are many variations.
That's a good one.
My bike has two piece rainsuit in the pannier, ready for use in the wet.
For recumbents I've seen body socks.
Velomobiles will of course keep you more or less dry in the rain.
In Asia they have many interesting solutions on their small engine scooters/Ebikes/Escooters.

Rain isn't a big problem where I live. But it is a minor one since I wear glasses and raindrops affect vision. I 3D printed a visor that is extra long ( about 70mm) for my Specialized Align II. It not only helps with morning sun, but it's generally long enough to help with keeping rain off of my glasses. At the right angle, it can usually keep the rain off of my glasses.

^-- got a pic?

This has been a huge problem for me. My answer has just been to not ride in the rain!

Sure. Here are a few pictures.

Most road helmets don't come with visors. And frankly, the mountain bike ones typically seem more for style than function. More of the visor seems to be on the helmet than projecting in front of it. Some of them are decent, but most just provide an extra inch or so of lip. Of course, Specialized doesn't make a visor of any kind for the Align II. This also provides some decent sun protection when the sun is low an off to the side. I don't wear sunglasses when I ride.
