Hello all and welcome to my first post.

Im wandering if it’s possible to hardwire two brake sensors to one connector on a controller? If so would they need to be in parallel or series? I suspect parallel…..

The lowdown……

I have a self built cargo bike, and have been using a re-purposed 8-fun motor and controller from a salvaged alien donor bike which crash landed on our planet maybe ten years ago. I’ve updated the bike to hydraulic disks and so the motor cut sensors are also new and have worked fine.

But some component on the controllers board has blown recently. This has forced my hand to upgrade everything to 48v from the previous 36v. The old motor and the new controller has provision for both so whilst I faff about with the battery it’ll work with the old silver fish one still.

The main issue I have is that the new controller has only one hwbs input with three wires, live ground and signal. And one brake with two wires.

I really don’t want to blow another controller so would like some friendly advice on this topic as I haven’t been able to find anything on this topic anywhere on the web despite numerous searches.
