ElectricMood scooter launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indigogo.com (don't be surprized if you have never heard about it, it's french). They seems to be quite successful so far (90 K$ in 3 days).

A 12" pneumatic wheels E scooter for 10 kg and a very reasonable price (995$)... but the real beauty is the gearless axial flux hubmotor which could be the technology we all dream about (well, at least for me) :

looks nice but too big. for scooter, i prefer the smaller, more compact ones like the ecoreco.
im sure the bigger scooter is more comfortable though but going onto a bus and into the office can be cumbersome.

I agree with you, smaller wheels would have been better for an urban use... I don't know if this choice is dictated by a reason specific to axial flux design...
Keep in mind that it is an hubmotor company (specific axial flux techno supposed to be light and cheap) who packaged their product into a scooter to access crowdfunding financing. Hopefully, their techno will be available soon to other Evehicles

Agree 100% for the ideal size
However, as their technology is about replacing copper wiring of the stator by printed circuits (see below), maybe there is a limiting factor regarding diameter ... (otherwise, I don't understand why they chose such a large diameter when they want to demonstrate the ligthness of their hubmotor)

I am surprised u say that when ur scooter is 12 " front with suspension.

I have 10" scooter wheels with no suspension and front suspension. Front suspension is way better.

They made the right choice with 12" wheels, especially with no suspension.

I think the ElectricMood scooter will do well at that price range. I hope that there lightweight hub motor technology takes off.
Maybe nice to add a suspension into later models.

to Sk8norcal : touché... however, I wish I could get the size of hubmotor I need... and we do not target the urban segment but the "suburban" segment (scooter a bit larger and safer)

Does anyone know if these are still on track for shipping in July?
Can't see many updates on their campaign page, am pretty interested in this.
