Several years ago I was searching for someone to provide an electric motor assist for my custom Quadcycle which I use primarily in my yearly Burning Man trip. Most of the searches turned up stores that said they couldn’t do this or recommended that I buy their motorized tricycle (which was totally unacceptable). I eventually came across Brian Howell at electric-bikes.com who discussed my particular situation with me in detail. This guy (though a bit hyper) is a genius. He came up with a terrific unique solution at a tremendous price using dual BMC motors. (I know because I checked this out with comparisons on the web). But I would have paid him more just for his expertize. I had him build the units which he did and he installed them in one day. It was/is terrific!
Burning Man is hard on a bike and although I intended to clean it up right away I just didn’t get to it. (You reviewers have probably never had this problem). : > )
I called Brian and asked for his help. He pointed out that he was currently swamped with work but he said bring it down anyway. He worked me in and fixed all my odd problems. He also pointed out several upgrades which would be good. And they were ridiculously low priced. We did them.
This guy is really good. My main worry now is that some random accident will end his business and I will be left alone in the world. I am thinking of taking out a life insurance policy on his life.
