We did a little experiment to see how much work it would take to integrate into our forum's permission system. We just had to know, because that's the hardest part and we were nervous about overunning our budget due to it.
Turns out this hard part is easy, we're thrilled!

What's next? i owe the other member of the development team some technical drawings on how the ES features look and act. That should get done either this week or next week.
We'll post progress updates and let yall play with the beta version as soon as possible to collect feedback - we like it.

I am assuming that Justin is aware of this and is ok with money going to the mods. This is why I quit. I think Moderators should be a voluntary position. I honestly don't see why we need to give them money. This place ran fine for well over a decade without paying for moderation and I can't see where paying them will make anything better. The only thing I noticed different is that my username got removed without even asking me.
Let's see if this post gets taken down like some of my recent others.

Yes, like i said on the first post, it goes to me, which pays a developer to do the work ( who has worked on our system w/me for over a year now ). Justin knows about it, and his company is price matching what the forum comes up with.
Moderators are a voluntary position still and are not paid. I only said if we somehow end up with excess money somehow, it becomes a moderator tip jar.
You told me you quit being a moderator because you don't frequent this place previously. If a one time distribution of excess funds to moderators was a big problem for you, i wish you brought it up.
Your username was not removed, it's still active. We talked about this in private but if you want to make it public, i'll explain it in public the second time.
You ignored the new password policy and kept your 4 character password, which isn't secure by any means. The account was locked out and a week ago i gave you instructions on how to get back into that account by setting a new password, and i have not heard back from you on taking the actions to restore your account.
Please discuss anything you need from me privately instead of on our fundraising post, it feels like you're attempting to pick me apart in public while i'm trying to do things to improve this forum and i don't appreciate that. It's not good for either of us.

No matter how you word it, after over 10 years my account got discarded and username whacked without even asking me. And I was a moderator too!

Again your account is not discarded, you have instructions to reset the password to one that isn't 4 characters long.
