Does this exist, outside of disappointing, bulky commercial ones?

What do y'all think the feasibility of taking a large RC motor, say http://www.icare-rc.com/plettenberg_predator.htm and strapping it to the back of a roller blade boot, then running a small chain/belt to the side of the rear most roller blade wheel, with maybe a 5:1 reduction or something?

And (bravely) carrying a small LiPo pack in a backpack...

Perhaps this motor is even overkill, as you wouldn't want to go much more than 30 kph on roller blades anyway.

Ummm, I'll stick with ebikes, but thanks!!

I think you could get away with a relatively small RC motor (about half beer can size) and not need any reduction in gearing because the wheels are so small, it might add 3 lbs. to one skate and run wire to backpack. Do it, post video too.

Dd you see the video of Johnny Knoxville on rocket skates?

Errr... linked motor is 12.5kW ?
Dude....

TEMPTATION!

I think nearly 17 horsepower on a rollerskate would pretty successfully yank your feet right out from under you. But if you could manage to throttle up slow enough, and keep tucked propperly, I'm betting 200mph could be possable.

I think a 400 watt RC motor would probably pull a human up to 20mph well enough

Someday, when I have enough money, I aspire to do such crazy things as strapping a 17 hp electric motor to a roller blade. But given that the motor is $600 and that there would be little practical purpose to such a thing... I will hold off. Sadly.
