• Hello ES! We could use some help to get us past the finish line on building the new knowledgebase for the forum.

ES seeks Knowledgebase editors!

Checking in.
Tiptap integration into our software framework is ~85% done. Still working on getting it to near-perfect.

I've done multiple testing rounds on this editor and my opinion so far is:

This should provide a huge elevation in editor experience.
What's better is that it looks like existing articles can be converted into this new format.. so we can completely ditch our previous editor.

More news as it develops..

Hey, we're 90% done with the new WYSIWYG editor implementation by now.
Most importantly, we added better code highlighting support, emojis and file attachment functionality :)

If i was to give these WYSIWYG editors a score in terms of smoothness to use, it'd be:
Jodit: C <--our current editor
TipTap 3.0: A- <-- upcoming editor we're working on
CKeditor: A <-- WAY too expensive for us to use, but the gold standard

More later!

Would you like to be a Knowledgebase editor?

What we're looking for:
- The person is trusted in the community already ( IE not here to spam us )
- The person can write at the high school level ( if not, can tolerate having their grammar and spelling nitpicked to death )
- The person has good knowledge of some aspect of EV DIY, or is at least good at copying and pasting more knowledgeable people's thoughts into articles :)

If you'd like to be an editor, please answer these 3 questions in this thread:

[ ] What you know a lot about/want to write about?
[ ] Have you done professional/technical writing before?
[ ] Link to something you've written on the forum or elsewhere ( technical/professional/hobbyist writing outside of the topic is ok )

If you make the cut ( you probably will ), we will give you access to edit capabilities our knowledgebase system.
Oh, just come out and admit that you're hiring unpaid interns.

Yes, this counts as my official letter of resignation. Where do I address it too, again...? (jokes are spam)

Checking in. The AI box has been extensively tuned and thermally optimized. Some advancements in software allow us to run 2 parallel requests with our 197B model, and with higher context.

2 parallel requests means we can lend ES a little capacity to do things like:
- auto generate article summaries
- accept a natural language question, search the knowledgebase, and formulate an answer with article citations

This means we can now prototype said features and use them at a small scale.

We have the WYSIWYG editor implementation done on our other software. We need to add automatic draft saving, then port the code to the knowledgebase. So, give it a month or two before we have this new editor.
