Hi everyone.. I have an 'Electric Avenue' e-bike I bought new in Mexico City in 2017. It's assembled from the usual components with a 48V/500W power system. It's on its second battery and runs well... except it has taken to dying --shutting down-- unpredictably in mid-ride with plenty of juice left in the battery. Unable to find any loose wire connections, I tried replacing the 'C300' controller with one bought from Ali Express. I've worked my way through the user-accessible settings to make them match the old controller (including what seems to be comms protocol 2.1 matching). The monitor lights up and shows the battery full, correct units, power assist scale, etc... but when I try to activate the motor either with the pedal or handlebar throttle.... no response. fwiw, when I re-installed the original controller, everything works again.
