A friend has been talking about getting an E-Bike for a while now and last weekend he dropped in to say hello, had not seen him in months.

I got the E-bmx, the Chaos, Giant and Red-Hornet out, and let him have a spin on each one back to back.. took all of about 10 minutes and his reply was " How much, and can you build it by friday ? "

This morning i took a cab to work, after work i took another cab to the local bike shop with the intention of pedaling home with a new bike..

Voila ! - 750 $ taxes in.

YEAH, BABY!!!

Got this baby built

- Front 406 in a 20" wheel
- 36/48v 20 amp controller under the seat ( perfect fit )
- Will be 8ah Nicad, 36v.
- Thumb throttle

Rode it to work this morning before the customer picks it up tonight, i am waiting for a new 36v charger for the nicad pack from ebikes.ca so i strapped my 36v Li pack from the eZee kit to it for now.

Very fun ride..

I think i might have to get me a full suspension bent.. short wheel base.. because these long bikes are a hassle to handle inside the house.

you mean something like this...

Nice! One progressive thing British Columbia has done is no tax on bikes or electic bikes! Write your MLA's!

sweet looking rides, there's definitely an untapped potential for electric 'bents imo. jondoh what's it like to drive - er I mean ride - looks real comfortable

Cool story Ypedal! I hope to make the same kind of impression with my A123 powered Revive! Imagine if I tried to show off my bike with a half dead 36 volt NiMH pack . . . I'll be laughed out of town, ha ha!

GEEZUZ! IS THAT AN X5 ON A REVIVE ? ? ? A Hookie at the rear. . . Most likely go for Big Apples next time around for max comfort. But that reflective strip, bleh

After the success with electrifying my dahon folder, I've decided that the 20" wheel is the way to go. With all the weight on the back, I wanted something durable. I had a blowout on my last tire so tires are important and the hookworm seemed the strongest to me. I worry that the big apples won't be strong enough. I already have a schwalbe marathon tire on the folder-- great tire but I don't think it's strong enough for the revive-x5.
