I originally posted as I started my eZee conversion, looking for advice, and picking numerous brains. For all the information, and insight, I thank you. If you're interested in the original posts, here they are:

If not, please carry on...
I've been using the bike for my daily commute, and after a few bumps in the road (both literal and figurative), I'm happy to announce that I'm incredibly pleased with the results so far.

The old girl has needed some extras since the original conversion due to the demands of a daily commute averaging over 35 to 40 km per day at speeds averaging well over 30 km/hr. Below are the stats from my last commute. These numbers are about average for a day, although the 66.4 km/hr is a personal record. (Man its amazing what a good tuck will do to maximize speed.) Watts per/km are generally in 13 to 15 range.

After broken spokes in the rear wheel 3 times in 3 weeks, I upgraded to a double walled rim. Cost $35 plus $10 installation. At around the 500 km mark the freewheel gear started seizing up. I repacked the berrings with new grease, but a week ago it started again. New freewheel $20. A new set of front brakes are probably a week or so away, but for the most part, shes holding up pretty well.

The only technical problem that came up was dealt with was an intermittent problem with the BMS. It would shut down suddenly when I tried to throttle up, but only on an absolutely full charge. Very odd. After a couple of times cycling the power, it would fire back up, and run fine for days. After the third time it happened, and troubleshooting the wiring, and connections, I finally thought it was time to email Ping. I couldn't have been any happier with the support I received from Li Ping. After an initial email, I received a professional and concise email asking for some very specific questions about the voltages of the battery, and charger, and the the wattage of the motor and controller. After sending the requested information, again within 24 hours I received an email back with notations for each response. He concluded at the end that a new BMS was required, and asked for a mailing address to send the new BMS to. A week later, I received a new BMS in the mail. No hassle, no charge. Awesome. Ping Batteries... 4stars!

Conclusion after 1014 km.
I feel that the motor has finally been fully broken in. Its quieter and runs absolutely perfectly. Anyone I've let ride her has commented on the surprisingly good torque and acceleration. If you peddle to 15 km/hr and open her up she hits 40 within a surprisingly short time, and will quite happily cruise at 42+ km/hr. on the flat. The Ping batteries are consistent beyond my wildest expectations. I've once run them up to 15ah and the voltage still never dipped below 48 volts and I very rarely see them go below 49.5. Charging is a breeze, and there is an odd satisfaction in unplugging her in the morning, looking at the BMS and seeing 16 tiny LEDs all lit up in a row announcing that the batteries are charged, and ready for a full day's riding. :)

I highly recommend both the eZee kit from eBikes.ca, and Ping batteries. Neither are budget selections, but in my opinion well worth the money. The quality was apparent with the eZee converion kit right from the moment I opened the box. The fit, finish, and ease of installation was almost disappointingly easy. I spent the extra $110 and I got mine with the Cycle Analyst. I didn't even have to set it up at all. It was calibrated and ready to go. When I did have questions (before and after my purchase), I emailed Justin at eBikes, and he responded within 24 hours. Every time, he answered my questions directly and in a way that I could understand without question. Totally impressed from start to finish.

I'll post again when I hit another milestone (or when I get my video setup tweeked);)

Happy Riding...

I read your post and this is the theme song to it. I couldnt find the not so touchy feely version.
Your post is like one of those success stories that brings a tear to your eye.
