Any body out there buy one of those bolt on replacement 36 V 450 motors from TNC Scooters. I bought one and it arrived tonight. I burned up my 24Volt motor with my LIFEPO4 36 Volt battery. Did you change your controller too??

Collected wisdom here seems to be that 36V on the stock 24V motor/controller should be OK. The stock 24V controller should be OK with 36V and a 36V motor. Your 36V motor @ 36V will have a slower no-load speed than the 24V motor @ 36V and because of that may be less prone to overheating. You may want to monitor your motor's temperature to avoid burning up the new one.

Let us know how it works out for you.

I have been running a 36 volt SLA with my EZIP for about 200 miles. No problems so far, but I don't cruise any faster than I could with the 24 volt set up (About 18mph). Is your new motor brushless. I saw a 36-48 volt 600 watt BMC that is supposed to bolt up to the EZIP. It is brushless and comes with the controler for something like $350.00, can't remember for sure.

I am interested in your results with your new motor. What is the model? What lifepo4 did you get, and how many ah?

Hello, Test ran about 5 miles last night. It is a little slower and the torque curve seems a bit flatter than 36V on the 24 Volt system feels more like 24 Volt system with strong batteries but a bit more robust than that. This is all subjective. I checked it after letting it pull me up a long flat hill and it was warm but not HOT like the 24 Volt on 36.

I Love the PING 36 Volt 15 AH LIFEPO4. It has tripled what a set of SLA's will do plus it stays strong.
I should post this question on batteries but is the BMS card supposed to stay warm if you leave it plugged in after the batteries are fully charged??
