For the motor it takes 3,phase wires 5 halls !
You may have wires for temp sensor. You don't have to hook up these wires you may not have a temp sensor in the motor.
Have to care been having a ball you just need three phase wires in five Hall sensor wires or if you have a dual mode controller it can run without the five sense wires. That's a maybe it would have to say dual mode on your controller.
Is common for aftermarket controllers to have extra wires for anti-theft ,hi-brake ,reverse etc

Hi everyone I have a bafang rear hub motor 48v 750 with a L1121 Red connector, the wires coming from the motor are the normal 6 Hals wires and the 3 phase wires.

The problem is I bought a new extension cable same make but this has 11 wire the 6 normal Hals wires but it has 2 extra wires a Grey and purple I think and the normal 3 phase wires, I connected the obvious colors to colour's but it won't work, no errors on the display I'm using A KT 21A 36v48v controller am I connecting the correct sequence is it something to do with the 2 extra wires do I need to swap them if so which combination on the Hals connection. Any help please I have enclosed photos. One is normal 9 wire 3 phase and 6 Hals the other 11 wires 3 phase and 8 Hals.

What do you mean the motor doesn't work? Nothing happens or do you get an error signal? KT displays will put up an error signal if the Hall signals are miswired or not connected. If you don't see an error, then whatever you're using to start the motor (walk signal, throttle or PAS) isn't working,

KT controllers, at least the 22A models I own, don't support motor temperature either. Was it wired with an 1121 connector? Why not a simple L1121 extension like this one?

Thanks but this L1121 had 11 wires where as mine has nine coming from. The motor this extension cable I already have and like said I still have Teo wires over a light Grey and a king of plumb color, though I ignored the lady to when connecting up my Hals wires, I got no faults but I couldn't even get the walk funtion to work so I'm convinced it's this L1121 cable. Because I opened my cable from the the motor exactly the same cable but it has only 9 3 phase and 6 Hals. I've only found one supplier of this cable and they are in the USA of course, but I've ordered a new 750w 48v G062 Bafang rear hub and hopefully this comes with the correct extension. This first Pic is what I need as you see it's identical to the 11 pin L1121 confusing right. The middle photo is of the L1121 with 3 phase and 8 Hals wires. Still don't know what the extra two wires are and what the use of them are. Any ideas please. One thing though when I connected everything the battery indicator stayed empty no green stripes as soon as I seperated the Hals connection the battery indicator showed again any reason why please

A lot of controllers have extra wires a lot of wiring system have extra wires remember they're adapting this to an e-bike motor that's why they have extra wires. Meaning that special waterproof plug was never made for a e-bike motor extra wires
What type of controller do you have is it a dual mode ?

48V times 22A is about 1050 watts. That would qualify as a nominally "500W" bike in today's very permissive regulatory environment, but I don't think anyone would call it "250W maximum" with a straight face.

KT controllers and some of their displays allow you to choose the percentage of maximum power for level 1, but 5 is full blast and the others are evenly distributed in between.

A lot of legal 250 watts ebikes have peak power around 1000w.As long as the motor is rated 250w nominal it is legal in EU.There is no limit for peak power.
There is for example a 250w version of the bbs02 with 36volt 25a controller.And the Haibike flyon 250 w is almost as powerful as the Bafang ultra

You can buy a dual mode controller. It has a speed limiter wire. And can run censored or sensorless for the whole wires and you can also get a controller with a self-learning wire. You won't be able to find matching connectors across the board it would be hard. A soldering iron and some shrink tubing.
