Here's my bike nearly complete :)

The left ammo can still needs some readjusting. The right ammo can
has ping's 36 v 15ah battery in it. The kit is the amped-bikes front dd hub motor.

I will be painting the ammo cans a bit better and I am adding a head lamp pretty soon.
Another battery in the other ammo can will be eventually put in. I am hoping for close to a 40 mile range when i am done.

Took Its Maiden Voyage Today. Like everyone mentions, I had the grin :) Nah i can't lie, i was smiling like a little kid lol.

Congrats on your first build.
Looks real Stealth.
I have admired that Electra frame for years now.
Lots of space in frame for Batteries  (maybe next years rebuild project)
But having the rear cans/front motor should make for a balanced ride.
And still looks like a Bicycle.

Enjoy

Nice and clean!

What do you do for brakes when the chain hops off sprocket? Or maybe I'm missing a hand brake someplace?

Wedge my shoe in the back tire?

But in all seriousness I am deeply considering putting in a front brake. I have seen someone drill holes in the front forks of this bike to put caliper/vclamp brakes on
I believe chopeerus has some sort of bolt on attach for chopper fork disk brakes.

I am a tad nervous with only using coaster brakes

Interesting build... Just one question: why did you choose front motor?

A few reasons...

The main reason was keeping and using the gears in the rear hub.
I had heard that front hubs were an easier install so I went for it.
The forks are steel the back part of the bike is alloy. I wasn't sure how well a rear hub would fit in the back of a non-standard frame.
I didn't want to have to bend or do anything to the frame. I thought that a rear drive might require that.
Aesthetically I really wanted a fat rear tire but didn't want to have to true a dd hub motor.

so basically aesthetics and simplicity.

Ignore those nit picks.

Chains don't drop from single speeds much. No derailur slack. But front brakes would be a good addition, if the forks could accept some. Looks like a bitch, you'd have to weld or get different forks. You'll just have to get used to flat spotting your rear tire stopping from faster speeds.

Nothing wrong with front motors on street bikes in my opinion. In this case, it just looks like it belongs there in a way, like a big front drum brake or something.

40 miles on that would kill my ruined back, but If I could ride one, I'd have one just like that. Maybe leather saddle bags, but the same thing in general. Front hub chopper.

It looks nice and clean.

Questions:
1) What are the external dimensions of the ammo box?
2) How are the ammo box attached to the bike? Can you post a close up picture showing the attachment points?

Comment: Front motor and rear battery should provide a nice balanced ride.

Suggestions:
1) I would definitely consider adding a front brake, or at least have regen enabled
2) If the controller does not get hot, I'd consider moving it into one of the ammo box (weather protection and cleaner look)

Enjoy

I had a chain hop off this single speed bike:

Very fortunate it had a front brake. Not a great front brake but at least it was something...

No offense, your bike looks great and will be a lot of fun. Just sharing what I learned from experience. There's an ignore feature if it bothers you.
