I couldn't find any on the net so I guess mine is the first! OSET 20R with track and ski from a youth ATV kit. I made a new driveshaft for the track as they are normally mounted in place of the wheel hub. With the current gearing, it is quite a bit slower that the bike version but I wanted to make sure it had enough torque for snow. It works fairly well, needs to be on hard pack (existing snowmobile path worked) with my weight on it as the ski and track are pretty small and don't offer much flotation. This bike would definitely benefit from a lithium conversion as the 10AH AGM batteries sag horribly.thumbnail_image5.jpg

Looks like a window frame manufacturer's side quest, hehe..
Pretty neat actually.

A lithium upgrade would probably help performance a lot as i'm sure it has major voltage sag in the cold..
What would be even better is lithium titanate or sodium ion..

But lithium is doable if you overspec the C rate by 4x to account for the natural IR drop from room temperature to freezing.

Lithium would almost certainly help, but in the meantime there's a simple relatively cheap way to get better performance from the lead: The SB Cruiser : Amberwolf's 2WD Heavy Cargo Trike & Dog Carrier
If you cover the whole battery in 1" styrofoam insulation, then put a heater like one of the folowing in there:

These are not all that cheap new, but youc an find them at thrift stores used for cheap (I';ve gottena few over the years for a buck or two).

Or you can use regular old heating pads like these, preferably ones with out the automatic controller just hte manual hi/med/low switch. They're no cheaper brand new, but I find these for a buck or two at thrift stores all the time; sometimes one of the settings doesn't work but the others do; this is almost always a broken wire inside the pad, but osmetimes it's corrosion from a liquid intrusion in the slide switch.

If you mean the aluminum parts, they remind me more of the pieces of the old powerchair lift I've taken apart over in my Schwinn trike conversion thread: Amberwolf's Schwinn Trike Rebuild / Conversion to Heavy Cargo Hauler
Even the chain drive on the left side there down to the tread resembles the main lift chain / sprocket....
