Hi Guys,

New here...first post and I start with a build.

Basically I've always been into bikes from fast v-twin 2 stroke nutter RGV250's to KX 250 moto x. Getting fed up with all the noise and broken bones so figured I should build an electric bike

I've started with a reasonably good £300 sturdy mountain bike and also the 900W Cyclone kit from:

The battery I bought a Ping 36v 15ah LifePo4, hoping this will get me the 12 miles I need to cycle to work. Will up some pic's in a bit.

the 900watts kit is wonderful has lots of troque when is running 48v 20hr. the range for 48v of 20hr, at least ...
55km * distance, or more then 60km per charged. going for 20kilometers on 36v 15hr, i think there should have no problems.
range for 20kilometers is not consider very far distance.

my recently build hub motor 1000watts, Conhismotor, on a SLA batteries, (Lower density , Lower quality brand SLA batteries)
can give me a range of 25km Per charged. 48v 12amper Sla batteries. the troque is not bad, on a very tough hill of 35degree
i can run a speed of 35km/h, and down slop, is 54.5km/h (25degree- 35 degree of slop angle)

they still run on gears and chain. Do check every link for chain is flexiable and smooth spining. try to run your gears at your
spoket 24t, 22t. Don't always run 11t, 12t, or 16t on your rear wheel. it will cause the gears inside to wear off faster. running
a rear wheel 24t is abit slower but you have more solid troque + more life span on the gears. Chain need to replace after afew
thousands of kilometers. and Brake pad wear off much faster then usual. (so stand by some brake pads) i have 10 pieces for
replacement incase is wear off. im living in a very busy area.

Your battery may be a bit small for that motor. You probably want the 20 Ah just so you don't draw too much current. Nominally you are drawing 25A from a battery that is rated for 30A, but really more like 22.5A You'll spike current near 40A most likely. If it hasn't shipped yet, I'd seriously consider a 20Ah pack for battery life in terms of cycles. Otherwise just be careful giving much throttle at low RPM with that battery.

Damn, battery is already here.

Would it be an easy job to add another 10Ah battery in the future to the setup?

Here are some pics, the tape holding the battery on is very strong.... was surprised at the strength of the tape.

It is only a temporary solution. 900w motor and controller should arrive on 25th of May.
