Flipsky controller reverse switch not working?

I have a new Flipsky 75100pro V2 controller I have just wired up however the reverse switch is not working for some reason.
My reverse switch is a simple on off switch on the handlebars of my electric quad bike/scooter I am building. I have spoke with tech support from Flipsky and they just tell me to wire the RX wire from the controller to my switch positive and GND to GND which I have done but nothing happens when I flick the switch quad only moves forwards.

I have checked continuity and shows on and off when I flick the switch but have no idea why this wouldn't work.

I have checked on the Vesc app and selected the mode which says throttle with reverse switch (or worded something similar)

Does anyone have any ideas? or have had something similar happen to them?

In Vesc settings I didn't have it set to the correct ADC channel
