hi,

attaching a motor inside the frame's triangle seems difficult without some custom/specialty parts. i'm looking for general frame clamps that are (1) strong and (2) can attach to something with a bolt or two. any recommendations?

i found this old thread which refers to custom frame tube adapters made by recumpence http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=19558. if nothing stock turns up i may just bug him about them :)

thanks.

something along this line?

easy enough to mount a motor...lots of extra "meat" to drill & tap for a gaurd or other component anchor points.

yeah, something like that would do although the motor is a larger currie-style can motor with a mounting plate. i could see using two like that, one on the seat tube and the other on the down tube, and then bolting an extruded i-beam or something across them...

is that custom or does someone sell them for various tube sizes?

thanks thud.

I make these loose, havn'e had time to start a thread in the sales section.
PM me your tuube sizes & i can hook you up...cheap!

thanks all,

i'm following up with thud on his custom mounts, but what i'm really looking for is some off-the-shelf clamp/attachment that's not too bulky yet sturdy and offers strong points for attaching aluminum plates etc.

here are some ideas from mcmaster-carr:

i'd love to hear more what off-the-shelf clamps/mounts have been tried -- what works, what doesn't.
