I have installed a friction drive on my pub bike (an old road bike) which currently has a skateboard wheel fixed to a motor permanently driving the rear wheel. This has two drawbacks. 1 it slips on a wet road and 2 It adds drag when the motor isn’t powered.
I have been given a large tin of araldite (this stuff sets rock hard) and I have had the idea of 3d printing a mould and encasing a bmx sprocket in it to give me a small freewheel.
Seeing as I can print any mould pattern and shape I like I was pondering what would be the best design for the greatest grip in the wet.
Any thoughts?
