This is my first build so I hope I can keep the laughter down to a minimum. :D

After struggling through the thicket of controller wires assembling a MXUS motor without the benefit of a wiring diagram, I finally managed to get the wheel spinning. The only problem is that the front wheel is spinning backwards instead of forward. I don't think I screwed up the wiring because its working. I mounted the wheel with the wire on the left side as I sit on the saddle facing forward, Is this just a matter of removing the wheel and flipping it so the hub with the wire sticking out is one the other side? Help! Thanks.

Front wheel you can simply turn it around but I'd try swapping Phase/Hall combo. There are false positive combinations but those come with excessive current draw. If possible use a Watt meter, no load spin shouldn't be more than a couple Amps.

Just had this happen yesterday while mating a 9C/MXUS to Lyen controller - swapped Yel-Grn phase wires but forgot to do the Halls. Wheel spun backwards. Swapped the Yel-Grn Hall wires and forward rotation.

If it really runs good now, flipping the motor is a definite option. Should be able to find a proper combo to go the other way though.

Once you have a good backward combination, finding forward combo is very simple.
Swap 2 of the phase, any 2 but only 2. Then the proper forward has to be one of the 2 remaining hall combinations other than the present one.

Man, don't mess with the wiring. If you're like me you'll screw it up.

Just flip the wheel.

I did the same thing my first build. It wasn't until people asked me why I was riding backward that I even noticed. That explained the sore neck I had after riding to work each day.

If no disc brake on the front- ok. While you have the wheel off, consider if the tire works better turning in that direction or needs to be remounted. With front wheel drive it might effect traction on some tires.
