Cool vid, what's the power like compared to other motors ? Better than the BPM on similar voltage ? You running the stock current limit on the controller ?

250 D8 frames eh? No wonder they are hard to score now!
What do you think of the kit's freewheeling cranks?
2kW sounds good. I'll see if 1kW is enough first though. The last thing I want to end up with is another motorcycle or start shredding components. It's too early to tell now - need to get out on familiar trails and see if I can achieve balance this time. It already feels more capable than a geared hub for offload use and not as dull as a DD. The overlap of peak efficiencies through the use of gears should result in a flat overall efficiency. Can't wait to try it out.Hyena said:You got plans to up the power ? It strikes me that with this motor package it needs to be able to offer something over and above a hub. If it's about the same as a lowish powered geared hub then there's no incentive. Weight is similar, handling differences would be minimally noticed by many and those same ones would probably be put off by the extra work of installation. And for street riding it sticks out like dogs balls. Fairly literally  Lets see how she goes on 2kw![]()
Meh. What else would you do with it? :lol:sn0wchyld said:only 250? wow. maybe I shouldn't cut mine up...
Yeah.. It was so tempting to take the new bike and just go riding on the trails. They can manage at work without me, right :lol:Samd said:Who'd be at work today

Geared hub is still the best I have experienced for commuting/road simply because I spend most of the time in the peak efficiency zone and there is hardly any maintenance required. Would like to try the Bosch unit though.

They pop up for sale now and then. Saw a frame for $200 a few month ago. Even let nechaus and healthyoung know. Don't think they listened![]()

Yeah, def start a thread! Is it the Marin? Don't stress about the controller - I put his back and it started working again. Prob just a loose contact..t3sla said:ill go riding with you sometime when i finish up my bike, should start a thread....
Oh and i totally forgot about ur PM, think the boss said $50
Undo all the bolts then rotate the core anywhere you like. The pack is made from HK 25C LiPo, I'll post some pics later. Search for jonescg and his LiPo packs for sale if you're after something similar.Cyclebutt said:Full-throttle, I didn't like the looks of that power lead coming out the very bottom of the assy. either. I remember the motor casing having some dill/taps (bike is in garage waiting for brakes, cassette, etc.) that would have to be redone in order to rotate the motor/wire-lead exit to a more suitable location. Did you have to drill/tap any new holes?
I'm looking at 20 aHr LiFiPO4 packs (heavy!) because I intent to use my Cannondale F5 like a KLR Kaw... ADVENTURE (easy 20 mile range) BIKE. However, I noticed you are using a state-of-the-art LiPo pack. Could you PLEASE tell me your impressions and provide a link (got one?) to some real world pack builds and usage. Any info would be great.
Doesn't let me :-(
Must be the soundtrack..
