Ive installed the bbs02 gear sensor as per youtube video instructions, however I did damage the cable a bit when I removing the housing, and had to remove some strands from the cable, I hoped that wouldnt matter?
And now, I can no longer use my 3 lowest gears. The bike thinks I only have 6 gears seemingly and nothing happens when i try to shift into lowest ones.
Ive no idea why that is and so dont know how to go about trying to solve it.
Any ideas? Im not sure how shifting gears work in the first place tbh..
Update.
Ive made it much worse. I tightened the cable and as a result i lost another gear, so I loosed it instead by pushing the cable back into the bike, and now ive lost all gears except the highest gear.

Pics may help.

Im guessing I need a new cable now?

Well for one you have a barrel adjuster that can help with aligning the derailer to the gears. There’s typically one on the gear shifter as well on the handlebars.

I’m not sure if removing a couple of strands would make a difference as long as it still intact and able to shift the gears. Probably wouldn’t hurt changing it. You might find better understanding looking up derailer adjustments on YouTube. Doesn’t have to be ebike related just general bike mechanic videos could help you have a better understanding of how the derailer system works, it’s quite simple.

But yeah try turning the barrel adjuster to the left or right to see if that helps, start with the one on the derailer.

Oh wait I just realized that your shifting wire is not connected to the bolt that holds in place or maybe that’s just for the picture?

Your shifter cable is not connected to the derailer

Well that why it’s not shifting. Maybe the shifting cable slipped off when you were testing
