Hey guys,

I need to replace the brushes in the original ESR750 electric motor. It was built in 2007. I've called McMillian Electric Motor Company and they were NO help at all. Does anyone know where to get replacement brushes or equivalent for this motor?

Thanks in advance!

It's very easy to get brushes too large, and file them down to size. Using colour as an indication of consistency. The front of the brush is concave to match commutator diameter, so you put sand paper round the com or similar sized item to put the right dish on them. Once fitted, run unloaded for a while to seat them perfectly before loading them up. If you load them up when they don't fit right, arcing and heat issues can cause premature wear.

Understand that the wrong brush compound will wear at a different rate and could even wear the commutator if really badly matched. A motor shop might be your best option if you want this doing for you. Though I would just visit to see their old stock, and do it yourself.
