Has anybody got any knowledge of Goldenmotor (http://www.goldenmotor.com/)
Hub Motor wheel assembly Type:HCM5000

I intend to build an electric reverse trike and thought this may be a suitable rear power unit.

My intended range is 50 miles with a top speed of 55mph; if I can get more speed or range all the better. It is a single seater coming in at about 400Kg.

I intend using LiFePO4 batteries.

Can anyone give me any advice on this as I am new to EV builds.

5000 watts is pretty light weight for a 400kg vehicle. there are several other motors in that weight and size range that have double the output. 10kwatts would be about right. you might try looking through the emotorbike section further down the page here.

My friend sent me an e-mail today asking about the possibility of using 2 or 4 of the Golden Motor HPM5000B motors and related components for a car project. I would appreciate any information on this motor and the company. I am also checking the old posts for information.

I am using this motor for my motorcycle project. here is a video of the motor being used in a light personel transport, it shows five people being carted around with this thing so I think it will be more than enough for my use but you may indeed want to use two of them for your project.
