I'm trying out these sub c nimh batts:

I bought 40 to make 4 - 10s1p 12V packs, which will then be put in series for a 48v pack. If they give me around 75% of their rated capacity, I will probably make a second one for a total of 40s2p later.

They will be arriving soon, and All-Battery recommends that they be charged at 6A. So I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this (or a similar model) charger.

If this one really sucks, is there a better option for 6A for multiple strings of 12V for near the same price?

Bumping this cause I need some help with the above question.

also....

....can a computer power supply be used to power the charger?

the one linked below has an output for 12V at 22A, but it also says -12V at 0.8A, what is that second part?

Posting this in case anyone wants to know:

Got 42 Propel tenergy cells in. Made 4-12V packs with 2 cells left over. I got the E-Station charger linked above, and at 5A it charges a 12V pack in 40 minutes. One problem is that the charger is limited to 18 NiMH cell, so I can only charge one pack at a time.

I also got the usb cable and software, so I can plot a discharge curve, and post it here after the packs are broken in.

And the answer to the question about using a power supply from a computer is a big YES!

Will post here later if anyone is interested in any results.
