I purchased a 2nd hand scooter, and after cleaning it up and replacing the chain, it ran great, everything seemed to work. I charged the batteries for about 3 days or so on separate trickle chargers. As expected they didn't last long, about 20 min total riding time. Charged them up in normal config and after 2 hrs the kids rode it again (they were not fully charged). Charged it overnight and 2 of the batteries warped on the right side. Problem, is the batteries just shot and shorted or did the controller/charger overcharge the batteries.
I found an old DDM service manual and it states to check voltage at the 2 pin connector, not the 3 pin, but I only see a 3 pin that goes from the charger to the Controller board.
Suggestions please.
Also, if the charger is shot, what lipo batteries can I run safely on the stock esc from hobby king. I've read 2 6s is the max the controller can handle? I was looking at the multi-star turnigy batteries. which ones would you recommend. I have a nice charger with balance boards for charging from my rc airplane/heli days.
Thanks,
Chad
