Hello

Been having a lot of fun with the gopro, picked up the chest mount for it, nice piece of kit, mounted the camera upside down to help with the angle when hunched over the bike, shot a video off road on the BMC running 50V lipo, great fun and after a bit of adjustment got just enough sky in the shot and plenty of bars and knees  fun video to edit this a well, added a little funny section right at the end, these gopros are so versatile!!

Enjoy, watch in HD if you can

sweet vid mate, where did you shoot the grass hilly scenes? i kept expecting to see the coast at the crest?
nice tune too, i made the effort (slow bb) for 720 and the cam works a treat, i'd wondered about the angle of mount for being crouched over the bike, invert huh?
hoping to share some too soon, it will be cool when you come over and we can go together, follow cam
Keep them coming, i think Jays resting on his laurels
D

great video, those gopro cams are excellent.

HI Guys

Thanks for all the comments, yes Deec going to be great fun when we hook up and make a video for sure 8) the place with all the hills is called the dasset hills, its about 12 miles from my house (this trip was a 25 mile round trip) which is short for me as I normally do 35 miles. Greg still got the batts on the seat post not got around to getting another one yet, its just about OK ha ha, I am amazed how well this bike handles off road! ha ha, years ago I saw this fella enter the downhill race at the malvern hills on a normal cheap steel mountain bike and he was thrashing full on full suss bikes! ha ha

With the chest mount its hard to get it to tilt up on the level when you lean forward on the bike however if you mount the camera upside down you can tilt it perfectly, the only downside is that the video is upside down however this can be flipped easily in the edit software and most video players including the amazing vlc player which will flip it round on the fly just go in to the tools options filters menu.

Trying to mess about with a few different transitions and titles, feel like a KMX video next maybe? it looks nice in HD doesnt it! these cameras are amazing, I am pleased I went for the Gopro over the contour though as although the footage from them is good I think on balance the Gopro is better more natural and not as dark.

Again thanks for the comments, I had about 5 attempts at encoding the video it just kept crashing, found 1 transition that it didnt like to had to take it out of the edit, my son loves swings, he will sit and watch that for hours ha ha and I must say it was fun ha ha, perhaps we should all chill out on a swing once in a while

Yeh looking forward to it, you should take that bike, we'll hit some trails 8)
you know you can use an option on the cam to tell it its upside down and it will film as normal? i think the option is "UP".

D

Yeah think I read that somewhere after the quick shuffle through the book a good option if you dont want to have to flip the video to watch it again, the quality in full HD on a big screen is amazing.

Yes I think the BMC raleigh is a great little bike, I think i will get the batteries in the frame, maybe just lash them in anyway, been having so much fun with it off road, never really done much with the electrics off road before, its great being able to rip along at 30mph on some of these trails feels so fast and can get a little sketchy as well.

Whats the eta on your bike then Deec, looking forward to seeing the full rig in action mate, bet you are chomping at the bit there buddy? I will in time get that brand new full suss frame in the garage sorted with a motor too, very keen to see how yours works, shame they are sensorless as I have a spare brand new controller, maybe have to fit halls? cheaper than buying a new controller though.

I must get and do it however I am having too much fun out playing on the bike at the moment ha ha, really looking forward to seeing your maiden voyage on the bike 8)

ETA is next weekend  - Jozz has moved his whole workshop....next door  he's taken the place that used to be the motorbike repair place in the corner unit, bigger pemises for all those projects, so you can imagine it will take a little while for him to get sorted, It makes good sense as it's the wifes birthday this weekend anyway, im looking to pick up next Sat, but then working sun/mon/tue, looks like the weds will be maiden day
My HS is coming with halls :D you can have a good thrash when we get together, its still on the rear shock that feels plush when you ride it but is a little firm for me, i think the shock is 650 when i really need a 500 or so.
full suss with batts in the frame will be awesome, can't wait until you get that on the go, maybe a ride on mine will give you the nudge you need ;)
Really looking forward to getting some hd footage on my tv, its only 720 so the r3 mode will be just right!! i bet i get the bike just as my free coral software runs out, lol.

Hi Mate

Ahh great that means D Day isnt too far away then!! ha ha brilliant and great news on Jozzer moving the shop over as well, be great to catch up with him this year at some point as well. Well OK wed week it is then! ha ha might be wise to have a little shake down run with the bike first then worry about the cam, dont worry about your video editing software running out

Bet you are like a kiddy at xmas oh and good news on the halls, if they are putting them out with halls in then I am in business :) I would just buy the motor, lace it in to a decent rim, fixed gear as well as I dont ever change even off road, might leave the front shifter on, yeah will have to post up some pictures of the frame, there isnt much room for batteries but I am sure I can figure something out.

OK keep us posted :)

Hi Buddy

Ha ha nah its not a golf course although give them time  I can sneak on to a golf course that is nearby however they might chase me off with shotguns as the run a farm right next door ha ha.

Yes was great fun filming this, looking forward to seeing more videos from everyone else too 8) Deec has no excuses as his bike is nearly ready and he has a gopro now.

Lovely, lovley green stuff. Mountains obsured by dirt again today. New meaning to the term dirt riding this year. 127 days since the last rain.

Cheers Dog, yes its green green green here at the moment although we have just had a very dry April and the hottest on record which has in turn made the ground very hard to was doing my best not to fall off on some of those trails
