Hi, I was wondering if it is ok to put Gorilla tape on an 18650 battery pack I made. It is a 48v 17.5 AH Pack made out of Samsung's 35E 8A Cells. I used the Gorilla Tape not to insulate the terminals but to tape wire onto the battery, and to insulate the terminals I used barley paper. I just am afraid that I accidentally contacted the corner of one of the terminals and I want to know if it is a good enough insulator to insulate this type of DC Electricity. The battery is going to be putting out around 35A at 48v DC. Hopefully I gave enough info. Thanks!

It's ok but can lose its stickiness and come loose, and/or get holes worn through on sharp points due to vibration. thick PVC tape in a few layers is better.

It's completely an insulator at the low voltages in a battery pack (unless saturated with water perhaps)

Back when I started with e bikes, nearly all lithium battery packs came wrapped in ordinary duct tape. Lots of discussion was about how to further protect them from abrasion, or other possible mechanical damage.

The way I came to like, was wrapping more vulnerable types of battery in tight fitting coroplast boxes, using political signs and heavy box tape.

These earlier batteries generally had a cardboard piece covering all the wires, then the tape wrap. Then the bms taped to the battery on the outside of all the tape.
