Had leftover gravey that always dries out when it cools.
So i just put it on the roll cold, like mayo, then 1 min microwave. A hot closed sandwitch. Very good & Low Cal too.
As u can see, i'm not much of a cook! LOL (ran out of mayo last year)

Gravy is good, but so it mayo+gravy. My guess is the gravy has a higher fat content anyway, but it sure tastes good.
A nice change of pace once and a while is a slice of jellied cranberry sauce on that turkey sandwich.

John

i start with a 1/2 pkg of powdered gravey 50 cal. Pkg costs 40 cents at $ General.
then i dilute it wth corn starch 30 cal.(too spicy for me)
if i'm lucky i add some pan drippings- unknown cal. maybe has a teaspoon of fat.
that would do 4 meals.
i can't imagine its more cal than mayo, but even if it is, it does taste better.
.
i was out of cranbury sauce; that is good too John.

next i'll try brown gravey, thick, put on like mayo, with roast beef.
i made a 5# top round roast into 20 portions put in the freezer cooked.
now that i've expanded my ovens capacity to 15-20 hard rolls, i might as well make more hot meals. just put it in the micro for 1 minute.
1 oven load of rolls, frozen, lasts at least a week.
dry gravey pks were 3/$1 no fat in the mix.

you cool, too cool, stay cool. biscuits with oodles of brown gravy, i thought you had to make gravy by burning the flower in the oil and then add milk and salt. 20 portions? must been 20 lb roast!!!! we would like to see pictures of your stove hacks.

how did you fix the microwave bell? that's what i hate. as though you can't tell when it stops blasting and need a bell. what were they thinking?

dnmun,
i just put duct tape on the bell where the hammer strikes. i also have an '86 Sharp micro that i use when i'm listening to music, that old micro is almost silent. That's back when they needed a bell.
.
Gravey; i just buy the dry pkg at Dolar General, mine expired 10-08 Lol. Add 1 cup water and hot stir. Then i store extra in fridge. Made it today; was only fair-good, maybe because it expired or because i didn't add any fat or oil.
.
Roast 5 lbs. In order to keep my college weight i have to limit to 1/4 lb raw or 2 oz cooked. Could easily eat3x as much, but then i would get fat.
.
No biscuits, Chicago style hard rolls.
.
No pics. Range top has extra knob in the middle for timer.
Oven has 4 racks and no top element. Simple.
