GT i-drive 2.0 Build

Cool angle Greg, but yeah it takes a toll on the lens. I'd be thinking about making a barrier before the act lens for those shots. I've used old CD cases before for similar shots with good results.
As for the construction site, yeah sounds like asking for a bit of trouble. If you do do it though make sure you set a camera up in your office to film from that angle above
I similarly want to tear up a golf course that only has a 1 foot high fence on one section. Theres no danger in that though, just mischief. I might have to hand my bike over to the ghost rider for that one

Cool footage though, I need to train a carrier pigeon to carry my gopro

Gotta wonder who ended up with the GoPro

Clearly, the guy who posted that footage :p

so i pumped up the shock to 250 PSI and it's friggin stiff. seat now feels like plywood. that's alright, i don't use it much.

and while i love the torque off the line now, like a hardtail, i'm unsure how to set it for big jumps. according to the fox float manual (PDF), i need to set the sag (diff between no weight, and rider weight w/o bouncing). right now, the sag is 0.25", which is ideal for 1" shock travel. But I'm going to be wanting more travel than that, right? At that pressure, i imagine it won't bottom out. Ideally, I need set it so it's loose enough to not bottom out, right?

Hey Greg,
You are right in my living room now LOL!
lets assume the shock on your bike will travel 1.5" (38mm) & you have no weeping of fluids from the seal or anywhere on the shock itself.

The fox shocks are available in all those lengths of actual shaft travel so use that as your guide,
if its a 1.5" travel shock, start with the .375 sag setting.

You are definatly going to make a few adjustments to settle in on your perfered feel. Suspension is all about tuning the bike to your indavidual taste.

Start with the recomended sag settings & adjust to fit...Idealy you want to the shock to "just" bottom out on the biggest hit you plan on taking. (not violently) An o-ring sliped around the shock will show if your getting full travel or not. In racing we find the softest suspension settings you can get away with will yeild the best lap times.

Depending on the action & feel your looking for, there are a miriad of tunings & tinkering you can do to modify the shock action at either end of the travel.
There are options for adjusting the internal air volume & oil viscosities. (prolly not to big a deal in an urban environment...but the skys the limit.)

Ah... I thought there was only one shock, and those were all variable settings! I need to measure the shock travel to see what I have....

And I'm going to pay attention to what that O ring is doing...

What do you think Greg?

A couple of them might be good enough for your ebike I think....:)

why, i think it's pure evil.
but oink, oink:
Power Supply: 12x2/3A 1500mAh Cells 14.4V
Battery Lifetime: 5 Minutes
rather than get that (certainly negative) attention though, i'd rather something that numbs, or erases other drivers' memories of having seen me... 8)

weird look from up there, huh? especially as most of my vids have been lower and lower... (i mixed in some unused footage from last week for the heck of it tho). apologies for so much ear. i wasn't going to record at all, but decided to at the last minute and hastily tried to recreate the helmet mount. i have no idea how i did it before and it was taking too long... :x

but the fact is, that's what it looks like for me! from 7 1/2 feet or so off the ground? i should measure... it's weird to see, and not my favorite view, but actually what it looks like... perhaps a 4:3 vid would show more of what's going on vertically, as i maneuver curbs, bumps, etc.

note how easy it is to bulk charge w/ my new charger at the end. it's not been sparking anymore - no idea why. not complaining.

my hotglued powerplug has come apart, so i've not balance charged in a while, nor do i regularly check. i did the other day after a full charge and one cell was .15V out from the others.

meanwhile, i showed the rig to an out-of-town guest last night and he said, 'WOAH, cool, that's totally Mad Max.." a higher compliment could not have been paid.

Good point....

A handlebar mounted one of these should do it. Although I'm more worried about drivers that aren't aware you're there in the first place!

There was a fat man in a red suit coming down my chimney last time I checked mine

haha funnily enough I've had the same comments on more than one occasion that my bike looks like something out of mad max. It's not the first association I would have made but it's funny others make that connection

from some 6th battery sense, i haven't had that comfort. i hooked up the lipo monitors after 5Ah and at 6.9Ah, the alarm went off:

one had dropped to 3.05V. charging only to 82.5V may not be enough...

before that, i was doing some exploring, will post up more later, but here, i was adjusting the mirror with one hand before i noted the end of the bridge had a drop:

luckily, no harm to bike or me. <phew>

I was scared out my mind when I wrecked Sunday... Pain like a mofo ...right brake lever broken... no rear brake.... left wrist broke so i couldnt hold the handle bar or brake... bike was dead in the water no power. Stuck with a hill one way and 2 m ride the other. Chain was off the sprocket...no water to drink ... panic setting in.. pain causing nausea... wanting to throw up... no shade to avoid the sun.... no way to sit comfortably... Count your blessings. I thought of the 50-75 mile rides I could have been screwed on... 100
+mile range is nice but u can get stuck in remote areas without ur backup network. Next build im sticking to 10AH and 700wh range... 30-40m top range.

Thanks for the fund mates I can relax a little u will be getting a thank you card from us. =P

i have been, believe me. i've been thinking lots about you. i was hoping that the more i contributed to your fund, the less likely i'd crash! and my little toss yesterday doesn't count... i would not want to be in your position, my friend. :(

here are some other clips from yesterday's pm commute:

i've been wanting to do this one steep trail off the bike path. the blue line shows one attempt, then the bypass and the attempt from the other end (where i wiped):

wtf was that dude doing just randomly laying on taht wall in the middle of the bush ?!

Cool trails to have so close to the city. Looks like some fairly narrow sections up high!

why, texting of course.

not on my map above, that little park, aka "P St Beach" is downtown, two blocks from the center of the DC gay scene, so it's got other uses, mainly at night.

Nah he is not a cop. Probably trying keep up with you and get closer to you what your bike look like. Who knows?

Yeah, I see the motorcycle following you and If he really is an cop. He would had you instant catch up when you went long straight street with no cars blocking.
