Hall sensor wires

My ebike brushless motor wheel has 6 hall sensors. I am looking at a controller and it has only 5 sensor wires. Is there a wire I could skip ? Like maybe the thermo wire ? Or ?

For most motors the white wire is the temperature sensor wire (or speed sensor wire on some geared motors).

If there are 6 hall sensors there would be a minimum of 8 wires, needing at minimum +, -, and the 6 sensor outputs.

Do you mean you just have 6 wires? That’s most likely the standard 3 hall sensors. So 3 signal wires, +, -, and possibly a temperature sensor as the extra.

Skip the one that's not red, black, green, blue, or yellow.
