While browsing a vaping forum batteries thread I saw Efan batteries mentioned. They kind of seem too good to be true.

18650 2000mah 40a battery ($4.89): http://www.yifangpower.com/efan-imr...-37v-most-powerful-battery-with-flat-top.html

and

26650 3500mah 35a continuous ans 65a burst  ($4.50): http://yifangpower.com/efan-imr-lim...0mah-35a-65a-high-amp-limn-power-battery.html

These are Chinese batteries and it seems odd that the 26650 is less expensive than the 18650.

Has anyone heard of these? I am not savvy enough to buy some and test them, I really don't even know what I would be looking for.

Then thehy probably are. ;)

But I never heard of them so I can't relaly help. :(

They may be too good to be true (I don't know for sure because I haven't used them), but I'm not entirely sure; their 26650 is rated for something like a quarter the continuous discharge of the A123 26650, holds about 70% more energy (12.95Wh/cell as opposed to 7.6) and goes for about half the price. If they sell in single quantities then it might be worth buying one or two and testing them on a dynamic load circuit of some sort to see how well they perform at their rated discharge levels. If they're as good as they say they are (and given the parameters above it's possible they might be) then they're as good as 20-30C Hobbyking LiCo with (presumably) less chance of fire or explosion and a cost per Wh ($0.3475) that's not far off the Turnigy 4s hardcase packs ($25 for 4s 5Ah comes out to $0.3378 per Wh).
