Heart rate smart watches

Does anyone have one of these? I am looking at buying one of the cheaper ones that have stopwatch function and have an app for android or ios. I need to find one that has lap functions, this seems limited thru all smart watches as not having them or only holding so many laps.

my wife is with a running club, and they have tried most of these watches.
what are you particularly wanting to measure ?.. HR, lap times, speed, ..? ? ?
currently, most seem happiest with the Apple watch (mk2) and the "Strava" app.
But there are many apps to choose from.
...and new watches every week !!

I really like the apple watch but too much money and I would have very little use for it. Just looking for one that is cheap, small and has lap functions. I am interested in the heart sensor stuff just because it is newwer and have been more health savvy lately with eating and things. Then I can watch my heart rate on my daily 3 mile bike ride and track to see if there is any difference while trying to be more healthy. The lap function I wanted for work. I repair stuff and keep track of how much time I am spending on each repair job. Tracking how long it takes and an estimated profit I make on that time. With the lap function I don't need to write down the times, just like starting another timer then do the math later with all the laps.

You do know that most cell phones have stop watchs and lap timer functions ?
Wrist band HR monitoring is a developing tech and not as reliable or accurate as the chest band monitors (also linked to watches though), Those chest band systems are much more reasonably priced.
....as i said , new gadgets being launched every week .
