Hi Guys,
I just wanted your guys opinion on this. I have a dual suspension mountain bike that I converted to a USPD with a threaded hub that I took off my old bike. I just wanted your opinoin on the best motor for this set up. A BMC powerpack motor externally controlled @ 51.8v or a Hi-Kol motor from Bob Mcree set up for external control @51.8v. I will using it for crusing, and light duty off road trails. What do you think would be more reliable and have more torque? thanks for your input!

I would say what ever Bob recommends
He realy knows this stuff better than most and won't steer you wrong:!:

The MAC motor is a bit bigger and can do a bit more power.
Either one is pretty good. The Kollmorgen motor is lighter.

Does anybody know how many volts I can safely run through the MAC from powerpack motors? What about through the black brick style 24-48v controller that ships with the motor? I was thinking about running it at 55.5v... thanks

I've run mine at 60v for a while. The efficiency starts to drop over 48v, but man, it really screams. I figure it's close to 6,000 rpm at 60v.[/quote]
