Hi, just starting up on a new project for an e-bike. I have quite a bit of experience in electronics but never take on something like this before.
Was wondering what motors I would be looking at for a front driven friction motor? Needs to be 250w and reach 18mph max really. Any advice? Thanks :)

Lots of existing successful builds you should probably look at; there's literally thousands of possible motors, depending on how you build it.

I've used radiator fan motors, others have used RC motors, hubmotors, lawnmower/weedeater motors, etc. Specific motors, dunno details, but there's lots of info in the threads. :)

Otherwise, we'll need a lot more info from you on exactly what drive you are building, how it will work, gearing if any, weather, terrain, weight, riding style, traffic, etc. to be able to help you figure out which motor would work (and what wattage you'll need).

FWIW, 250W isn't likely to get you to 18MPH or keep you there, by itself. ;)
