Looking to make my Emad 600 36v more rideable with better clone wheels and freewheel. What size/brand wheels would you guys recommend and is freewheel an option? Lots of drag when you let of the throttle but that might be by design?

I have already eliminated the lead battery and gone lipo 12S 5ah.

As long as we use the motor for braking too, we can never have freewheel. You can have freewheel but you would need mechanical brakes. Too much extra.

I also don't think regular wheels or clone wheels will fit on your truck. Those Exskate axles are 9mm/10mm, not 8mm. Your best bet would be to replace it with ABEC11 Electric Flywheels 107mm and just swap the bearings.

Thanks LEVer, Looks like I've done the most cost effective mod with the lipo battery.

The Abec 11's are too expensive. So the stock bearings I have won't fit in a regular clone say 97mm?

Has anyone fit a clone on the thicker truck axle?

I really can't remember if they will fit. I have those trucks and wheels, got them from E-glide in Santa Monica. Can't find them right now, they're buried somewhere.

Since you're just in Irvine, you can pay Altered a visit in Lake Forest. They may have the bearings for smaller wheels. They may also help you change your controller to something with better coasting.

I'd be careful using a 12s battery. If you damage the brushed ESC, it can make a direct connection from the battery to the motor, and get you stuck on full-throttle...on 12s.

I would suggest just ride it for what it is. You have already done the best upgrade going lipo, but you will never make that tank work like a DIY board. Save the money you would put into that and put towards your own build. You can reuse the batteries.

Using regular trucks/wheels/brushless motors...is like night and day.
I have both...trust me: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57517
