Help with gearing issues on E-Bike conversion

SunRace makes an 8-speed cassette in 11-40 that I've seen listed online for as little as $14. Even at twice that price it would be a swell bargain. It's called CSM 680. My shop carries the 9-speed version for $40 retail, but none of our distributors carry the 8-speed one.

Thanks for the heads-up, Chalo, I'll look for it!

The screws on top of your front derailleur are limit screws, used to set the extremes of the derailleur's travel. By tightening up the inner limit and loosening the outer limit, and readjusting the cable accordingly, you can relocate the derailleur's travel outward.
The new 48v TSDZ2 arrived. I removed the 36v and fitted it. It made a strange noise which was the chain rubbing the *inside* of the front derailleur cage. The 48v 750w motor chain line to bike centre line distance was more than 5mm less than the 36v.

I’ve no idea what’s going on! But thanks for your help. Getting the 42/52 chain rings fitted might be possible now.

For those still watching this thread, someone created a drawing of my chainring adapter which I had previously described here:

Here's the drawing:

The guy who provided the drawing was ES user remremi - thanks remremi! :D
