Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

Sorry if it's not appropriate to bump this after such a long time.

But I have the same issue as the Op. Difference is, I never bothered to contact Dillinger about it and simply kept buying new ones at $20-$30 a pop when they all inevitably failed.
But I am now over all of that. The rack quality is shit.

Just curious (as my warranty is now long expired) if there are better racks that could be bought as a more durable replacement? Especially one that is in or ships to Australia (Fairly quickly).

Cheers.

Since the warranty is no longer an issue, just do what I did and chuck the rack, remove the battery from the aluminum case, and throw it in a bag. Mine worked for two years like that until one of the cells went bad (I had the cheap, no-name cells). At first I had panniers out back and put the battery in there, then I went to a frame bag and the bike handled much better. Now I have a shark battery that just mounts to the frame with no rack necessary.

The battery is still under warranty though as I bought a new one not that long ago as the old one died. The rest of the kit (Rack included) is out of warranty. Would rather keep it on a rack to keep it all nice and neat, not worried about handling as the front will be loaded down with panniers as well, I only use it to do shopping (About 6-7km round trip). I have another DH ebike that I use for other "tasks".

The old battery when I opened that up because a wire had come loose inside (Solder broke) the battery was glued in, so I would assume the same holds true with this new pack. So I would rather not cut into that, would hate to pierce a cell.

Dillenger still sells this kit as well.

Noticed there are racks like this:

Not sure what they are called or where I could get them in Australia though? Spent a few hours browsing Ebay with no luck. Dillenger should have went with something like that from the start. Haha.

Those racks break too. They're another daft design. All the struts go to the top platform, which has no load on it. The lower platform that bears the weight only has side welds that are being sheared. They soon break after any rough riding.
