HPC's stuff has definitely improved. But bear in mind, they ARE in the business to sell it and make some money. My rule of thumb has been to try to use any battery you buy at half the specified amps as much as possible. Or less.
If I am looking at the same one you are, I see they say 65 amps. To me that means a 40 amps controller could work. You won't pull all 40 amps for long, and mostly you will pull 30 or less. It's clearly not 2c stuff, but perhaps best to run a 30 amps controller.
It can't be compared to lico, that's too apples and oranges. Can you imagine a 1 year warrantee on 20c Hobby King crap?
