How have ebikes changed your life?

Ebikes got me here (via the defunct 'V').

That's not all, but prolly it's the most significant.

Got me to ride more.

They got me back on the bike. I had mostly lost interest in bikes even though I have about 10 in the stable. Now I ride many days per week

We are now a one-car, two-ebike family. Saving bunches of money not paying insurance on, not paying for gas in, not maintaining, and not periodically replacing a second car.

Also, coming home from work and from most other directions is lengthy uphill. No longer a problem on a bicycle that gotsa motor. I now sometimes look for extra hills to climb just for the fun of it. :D

Got me back on the bike, after 20 years of riding only when I had no other way to get to a car parts store. Got me in trouble with the wife, Bad boy again today, buying a used x5. I keep telling her I spend money I would have spent running a car, but she ain't buying it one bit.

But those are minor issues, riding the ebike so much more than I'd ever pedal only at my age, my respiratory and allergy health is better than it's been in years. Blowing wind pedaling along on the bike is doing what I used to depend on prescription drugs for, but the side effects of excercise is much better than the drug side effects.

Oh, and yeah, I now spend waaaaaay too much time here.

I am out riding my bike after a few years break, and get to see and enjoy parts of Vancouver I otherwise would not. It is good exercise for me. I love it! :D

As the kids grow and get heavier, having a motor and an xtracyle lets me do things that couldn't ordinarily be done with a bike and trailer. It's like having a station wagon without registration fees and insurance. In the city with limited parking and traffic congestion, this has often been faster than a car. The freedom offered by this is priceless.

i enjoy my work commute now!

i have lost weight.

i feel more self confident. i think it comes from finding something i love, no matter what other people say (or joke) about it!

and all this from a cheap Walmart bike! :D

Given me a mission in life. They were illegal at a Federal level but this barrier has come down...with restrictions.
They were illegal at a Provincial level, but this barrier has come down...with restrictions.
Now there is fighting city by city...
Hope to manufacture a QUALITY product in North America designed for northern climes.

So far, fo rme, it's been nothing but a headache. But, it is a project. And, I love working on projects.

After completing my first bike, and having to rebuild the wheel a couple times due to broken spokes, I finally gave up on running such a heavy system on a light road bike frame. So, I am currently trying to remount everything to a new MTB with full suspension.

will it work?

Only time will tell.

Riding an ebike hasn't had much impact on my lifestyle.
Initially it flexed a few face muscles that hadn't been used for a while.

Unlike many participants, I was an all-season cyclist long before finally getting electrified last September.

As a bicyclist and motorcyclist I'd already become accustomed to the freedom, enjoyment, fun, efficiency, logistics, elements, reality and comradeship of a two (or three) wheeled world.

An ebike hasn't changed my life except to introduce great new people into it. I'd already met Justin through other bike related channels and mutual friends. Directly or indirectly through his shop I've met many other local ebikers.

I love my CA but it's distracting. I love my single speed bikes because there's no distractions. I loved my mirror too but found it another distraction.

le Béte and I travel at bicycling speeds because that's the pace of life that best connects me with the outer world.

I have dreams of building a coal fired steam plant carried on my e Bike to run a triple expansion engine to generate electricity to recharge my batteries.

Come to think of that, I will have enough electricity to rig a electrified fence or have a Taser battery to defend the rig...

bah! Nobody wants a stinker.

Exercising again finally. Walked a lot before the ebike arrived but walking is not practical for transportation. Lost 25 pounds since last November and have a rig capable of 60-65 miles with moderate pedaling. Have been in the saddle for 80 mile trips on an ebike. Have not been able to ride that on a conventional bike since 1990. I did do 40 miles on a regular bike after my accident last month.

Electric bikes brings some adventure back into traveling. Looking for power outlets at rest stops, estimating mileage/range remaining. Lots of on the fly math calcs keeps the brain humming.

Oh come on, think of how fun it would be to have a bike spewing a trail of black smoke like a 19th century steamer.

I can stoke the furnace instead of pedaling.

Lost 15 Kgs. 8 to go but I am stuck at 84! Bummer.
The ebike has "changed" my life but I'd prefer it to be "changing" my life.
Weight-wise, that is.

That's weird that you are having so many problems. Is your area really rugged? If it helps you any, I put my hub motor on a really heavy steel mtb and I've had no problems. I don't take my bike out everyday, though. I've had my bike since 1993 and never broke a spoke. It's a huffy destiny 1993. And the bike is really really heavy.
