How much buzz is normal on a hub motor?
I have been trying to get the correct phse wire configuration on my MXUS 3k turbo and Kelly 7230N. This is the only one that goes forwards and doesn't sit still and shake violently but it doesn't sound as smooth.
It's currently as blue - W green - V and yellow - U
And it vibrates slightly at slower speeds making a slight buzzing sound and sending vibrations through the frame, also sometimes when it's spinning and I slightly hit the throttle it halts to a stop.

I find that direct drive hub motors can be noisy and have a bit of a grunting sound to them on some bikes.

What do your continuous wattages look like at your top speed?
Does the motor get hot during normal use?

What phase amps vs battery amps are you running it at? a low amount of initial torque can actually make the direct drive grunt louder.

This is all just in testing right now with the wheel upside down, I'm still assembling the bike. Tomorrow hopefully I can get the controller mounted and I'll do some tests while riding.

? The connections that don't go forward but sit still and shake violently sound smoother?

Sorry if the wording is weird.
I meant that I tried a few phase wire combinations, most of them either sat still and shook violently or spun backwards and so far the only one that goes forwards sends quite a lot of vibrations through the frame especially at lower speeds.

Okay I managed to solve the issue, I had seen this flow chart a while ago but couldnt't remember where I found it but I managed to find it again today. Followed it and it worked great had to just follow the backwards rotation procedure.

So for anyone else the final configuration for a Kelly 7230N + MXUS 3k turbo
W: yellow
V: green
U: blue
Then for the hall sensors connect
Motor blue -> controller yellow
Motor yellow -> controller blue
