I know it needs to be charged at constant current first, up to a certain voltage level and then the charge has to be completed with a contant voltage cycle.
My question: where can I find an affordable power supply able to provide constant current ?
Thanks,
-Henri

You can find cheap CC/CV units on eBay that source 2A (don't let them source 2A for long or they'll fry) with a voltage limit that run off a 5V supply (so, USB) for a few dollars each, if not less.

They're not fast, but they'll get the job done.

At some point, it might be worth your while to just get a low power RC charger. Only 50w but fairly cheap. Now you can charge or discharge 1 to 6 cells lithium polymer and other types that charge to 4.2v, under charge them to 4v, and also charge lead batteries, nicads, and nimh.

Might use it seldom, but it sure can be handy from time to time.

If you need a faster charge than 50w,, there are more costly versions that go 150-200w.

This is how I sorted two weak/low Headway cells, 4 groups of 4s but can only charge two groups max at a time and must disconnect BMS
