1. Is the blue wire or the brown wire the positive one?
2. Does blue go in port number 1 or 3? (Number 2 bottom center isn't used).

Please see this photo. I couldn't load it directly on here for some reason:

I should know better than to fight with my daughter for the charger and after our little struggle, the 3-pin charger port (actually only two wires) popped off. I can solder it back, but just don't know which wire goes into which port. For those that know, please help. For those that don't, please don't guess. If I get this connection wrong, it can lead to bad things. Thanks in advance guys.

Here's the ride that the battery is for:

Better to test polarity yourself. Probably there are zero motorized cooler owners here (but there is a motorized cooler forum, isn't there?) Below is one of many Youtube videos on how to use a multimeter. Checking DC voltage is at 1:05-2:20 with a mention of checking polarity at 1:50. I think a minus sign at 9 o'clock shows on his meter LCD to indicate reverse polarity if red and black are improperly crossed. You can practice with an AAA, AA, or other small battery at first to see what yours will show.

i worked on a charger the other day that had just the opposite. blue was positive and brown was negative. it went to an IEC plug also.

too bad the guy never came back to his thread. wonder why he asked.

Thanks for everyone's replies! I got a response from a guy who sells mod parts for coolers. He's the guy who sold me the charger for this cooler that I had ended up overvolting from 24v to 36v so I figure he might be a good resource.

He said the Brown wire goes into the port labeled 1 while
the Blue wire goes into the port labeled 3

I began to solder yesterday for the second time in my life. Thought I was doing well, but realized if I don't do it super clean, the inside of the metal ring that surrounds this portion of the wire could touch and cause bad things to happen. My finger and I have had a run in with that before and the next thing you know it, there was a loud noise, my finger was black and I was freaking out.

So rather than risk that, I ended up purchasing a new charger. I'm sure many of you on the forum would be able to fix it just fine but I just don't trust my handy work, particularly when my daughter's bedroom is just above the garage where the cooler battery gets charged. Figured $37 is worth the safety. Thanks to everyone though for taking the time to reply to my original post.

As far as forums out there for motorized coolers, there aren't any. So few people are crazy enough to buy these things that we just join existing forums like this for help and I've gotten great info here. As far as modding, overvolting, installing, tearing the cooler apart, I'd consider myself an expert and can totally help anyone in that regard. But as far as the electrical components go and welding, I'm a newb.
