**it does open in-between the flanges. The motor has to be half unlaced.

Does anyone know if these motors need to be half unlaced in order to gain access to the motor core? Just trying to confirm before doing any disassembly. If anyone has any thoughts, or links, etc it would be greatly appreciated.

The ebike is a legacy radpower cargo frame and I want to change the bearings. Which I already have.
The motor also says 48V500W for additional information.

I see a number of recesses on the side plate in the image (which might have screws to secure the halves together, that need to be removed to disassemble it), but no separation line within the spoke flange circumference, so there's no removable cover on that side. If the same is true of the other side not shown in this image, then the logo tape between the flanges must be covering the separation line, and the motor would then have to be half-unlaced to open it up, like the Ultramotor and at least some BionX motors.

When you open it up, be careful that you do not apply pulling force to the flanges; you may break them off.

Also be sure to pre-mark the casing so you can ensure it is realigned just like it is now. (otherwise it may not lace up correctly again).

I'd look up the various Stromer/A2B/Ultramotor threads for disassembly methods (including what *not* to do) before starting the process. In mine, I used chisels to carefully and slowly separate the halves until I could get them apart. Someone else used a puller (like a gear puller, etc) but this broke the spoke flange (I actually have that motor here now, to use for a non-laced application or spare parts).
