How to wire this?

A while ago, I picked up a used serengeti rhino for my daughter. Lately, the batteries haven't been lasting long at all, possibly from being out over the winter. So I decided to pick up a new set. They're a bit different , tho, the original ones had screw- in connections, but the new ones have tabs with a small hole in them. What's the best way to connect them? Solder them on?

Those are spade connectors. You can get the female side at any auto parts store and crimp them on to your leads.

And that'll connect to the round leads that the screws went through from the original wiring?

No, you can either cut those off, or you can make extensions with a ring terminal on one end and a female spade on the other. Or you can get different batteries with screw terminals, like the ones that came with the scooter originally.

Cut off and solder the wire to the spade connector on that side? (And then it'll plug onto the battery's terminal? )

Sounds like the best option as I've got the batteries already and probably wouldn't be easy to return. Annoying, as they were advertised as specifically for this scooter, but oh well.

That's right. Do crimp them before you solder, if you can. But be sure to test fit the spades before you attach them, because there are different sizes and you should make sure yours work together.

Got it connected and charging now, thanks again. :thumb:

(Had to improvise the crimping a bit, but seems secure. )
